The Tallest Dinosaur
Some hundred million years ago, the tallest creature ever known,
standing 35 feet high, walked with 16-foot strides along the primeval
ooze. Dr. Barnum Brown of the American Museum of Natural History
has been following the elusive foot prints of the giant for years and
has now found the first actual bones of the Iguanodon dinosaur, a
kangaroo-shaped herb-eater almost twice as large as the Tyrannosaurus,
near Rock Springs in Wyoming. Excavation, complete with steam
shovels, is under way.
